ROCK legend Prince stayed awake for six days straight before his tragic death, it has been reported.
His family told detectives the 57-year-old had not slept for 154 hours when he would found slumped in an elevator at his £7million mansion on Thursday.
The insomniac was said to be hooked on highly-addictive and powerful painkillers for more than 25 years, according to his drug dealer.
His shock death came just days after sources claimed he overdosed on the opiate Percocet, which is believed to keep users awake.
The Mirror reports that Maurice Phillips, who is married to the superstar’s sister Tyka Nelson said: “I was with him just last weekend.
“He worked 154 hours straight. He was a good brother-in-law.”
Prince’s family honoured loyal fans at Paisley Park today by giving them purple boxes full of memorabilia.
Those who had gathered outside the late singer’s memorial service wer given the present, which was filled with a mix of tour t-shirts to tour booklets – but no fan got the exact same gift.
