‘She runs up to me, jumped on me and put her paws on my shoulders and just starts licking my face like a dog. I thought it was pretty cool,’ 19-year-old Jonathan Gessner told Click2Houston.
‘I was really scared at first,’ he added.
Gessner and his girlfriend Erin Poole encountered the big cat when they were out for a walk.
No one was harmed in the incident and the tiger’s capture went off without any major hitches, local media reports said. The owner is likely to face sanctions under the state’s animal control laws.
‘It seems to be a tame animal, seems very playful and friendly,’Sgt. Dorcy McGinnis with the Conroe Police Department told KHOU.
‘It is a very strong animal. It definitely would not be appropriate here in the City of Conroe.’
